The Brutalist Playground - Simon Terrill & Assemble @ The Edge, Bath University.
I walked into this exhibit not fully knowing what to expect. I was aware of brutalist architecture from my previous studies and found it to be quite dull and to be honest fairly ugly. I know that, that kind of architecture was essential however. Post war it was all we had to re-build the country.
Everything was really bright and there were children running around having a great time. It was hard to imagine that the foam they were playing on were exact replicas of concrete playgrounds, built decades ago. The stark contrast between the originals and the artists re-generation was astounding. It was fun!
